The client
The Ministry of Education Fiji provides free education from preschool to high school, along with scholarships, and works to improve lives through quality education.
The challenge
The Ministry needed a faster, more reliable way to assess damage to remote schools after natural disasters. The app had to collect data offline in areas with limited connectivity and sync it to the central database later.
It also needed to carry other important surveys, such as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and Disability Assessments.
What we did
In phase one we built an Android app that works fully offline and syncs collected data to the central database at the press of a button, designed so new surveys can be added later.
In phase two we added the Disability Assessment — a long form for a small screen — and broke it into a step-by-step wizard so assessors can save progress and resume where they left off.
